METAL CHURCH Guitarist's VANDERHOOF Side Project To Release New Album
February 12, 2005METAL CHURCH guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof will release a new album from his VANDERHOOF side project, entitled "Presto Ballet", in the early summer.
In an interview with Rockdetector.com's Bernard Doe conducted last fall, Vanderhoof revealed more information about "Presto Ballet", which at that time was meant to be launched as a separate prog-rock project under the PRESTO BALLET moniker.
"There is a whole bunch of material that I have written that is like old-school progressive rock," Kurdt explained. "At some point I'm going to put the finishing touches on that as another side project. It was too left-field for VANDERHOOF, so I am going to call this project PRESTO BALLET. It is just an experimentation on my part."
Asked if he had a lineup in mind for "Presto Ballet", Kurdt said, "We will probably use the singer from the first VANDERHOOF album (Damon Albright) who is currently working on his solo album. Plus, there will be Jeff Wade, the drummer from the METAL CHURCH 'Masterpeace' tour. He is more technical and probably more suited for that kind of thing. Brian Lake (VANDERHOOF, METAL CHURCH) will play bass, and Brian Cokeley from VANDERHOOF will play keyboards and do backing vocals. I'm doing guitars and keyboards."
VANDERHOOF have thus far released two albums: "Vanderhoof" (1997) and "A Blur In Time" (2002).
